Auto Dead Hard for Dead By Daylight: How It Works and Why It Saves Lives
Auto Dead Hard automates one of the most timing-sensitive defensive plays in Dead By Daylight. The Dead Hard perk gives a survivor a brief window of invulnerability after taking a hit, but landing it correctly takes split-second reactions and reading the killer's swing perfectly. Auto Dead Hard does that read for you.
This guide explains what it actually does, how to set it up, and how to use it without making it obvious you're using it.
What Dead Hard does (without automation)
When activated, Dead Hard makes the survivor immune to damage for a fraction of a second. The skill in playing it manually is timing — you press the key the moment the killer's basic attack lands, not before. Press too early and you waste the window; press too late and you eat the hit.
Survivors at high MMR play Dead Hard against the killer's animation, predicting the lunge frame from the windup. It's one of the highest-skill perks in the game.
What Auto Dead Hard does
Auto Dead Hard watches the same animation cues a top-tier human player watches, and presses the key for you the instant the hit window opens. The result is a near-perfect dodge every time — provided the cheat reads the killer's lunge state correctly.
Practically, it means:
- You never have to manually time it. Set it up, run the perk, and it triggers when needed.
- It works against killers whose timing you don't know yet. Manual Dead Hard is much harder against unfamiliar killers; the auto version doesn't care.
- It can be tuned. Aggressive settings will trigger on every possible hit; defensive settings will only fire when the prediction is high-confidence.
Configuration tips
TODO: Add the actual setup walkthrough with screenshots — Auto Dead Hard menu in the overlay, key bindings, sensitivity slider, and any timing offset.
A few principles that apply regardless of the specific menu:
- Bind it to a key you'd normally use anyway. Most players bind it to E (Dead Hard's default) so the cheat only adds the timing layer; the key still gets pressed by either the cheat or you.
- Don't crank sensitivity to maximum. A 100% activation rate over many matches looks suspicious to other players watching replays. Lowering the prediction threshold so it occasionally misses on edge cases makes your usage indistinguishable from a very skilled human.
- Test against bots first. Get a feel for what the prediction window looks like before you take it into a real match.
Counterplay (yes, even with auto)
Killers can still beat Auto Dead Hard the same way they beat manual Dead Hard:
- Holding their lunge until you've used the perk
- Bait swings that don't connect
- Forcing you into a position where there's nowhere to gain distance after the dodge
Don't assume the auto turns Dead Hard into a god-mode button. It removes the timing skill barrier, but it doesn't change the perk's underlying limits.
FAQ
Does Auto Dead Hard work with the Endurance status from other perks? It triggers off the Dead Hard activation specifically. Other Endurance sources (Off the Record, Borrowed Time, etc) trigger automatically without the perk. Auto Dead Hard isn't needed for those.
Will Auto Dead Hard get me banned? Like any feature, the risk depends on the cheat itself rather than this specific feature. Use a reputable provider and check the Dead By Daylight product status before each session.
Can I run Auto Dead Hard without other features? Yes — most products let you toggle individual features on and off. Run it on its own if you only want the timing automation.
